SINA ATA (Irak)

Sina Ata, February 2011 - In these awkward times where revolutions seem to be the latest fashion, a look at what lies on the streets is probably enough to gauge the mood.

These pictures (taken in Amman and Beirut in December of last year) capture the word “forbidden/not allowed” wherever they may be situated; telling us what can and cannot be done. In public and private arenas, they almost draw the map of the mindset and frustrations of the Arab individual.

The dos and don’ts, the rights and wrongs, the ruler and the ruled and hence the state of affairs, I am but a witness… yet again.
