Sara Abbasian (Iran)

Sara Abbasian - “I was born on Sep. 6, 1982 in Tehran / Iran, and I`m the second child in my family. My parents were originally from an immigrant Russian family, and despite of all difficulties this dislocation brought to them, both received a good education. Unlike my mother, my dad never experienced a normal life, because he had to spend all his life in long work trips.

I started elementary school when I was 6 years old, and the only thing that I can remember is corporal punishment I experienced there, and I think all those bad memories made me hate school and studying forever.

My father deceased when I was 8 years old. It was not too bitter for me, because I was not sure whether he will come back or not. I had no accurate idea about death.

Finally the painful times of studying ended when I was 17. For two years I had nothing to do. In 2000, I started studying painting. I was experiencing academic atmosphere again, but it didn`t work. It couldn`t help me to settle my interests as I expected. So I gave it up.

I started new experiences in painting with Pooyah Aryanpoor classes from 2003. In general, continuous and hard working is something that increases my curiosity in the field of art.”

Sara Abbasian exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in Iran, USA, China, Europe and U.A.E. She lives and works in Tehran / Iran.
