Bridging Cultures

The interest of the owners and the management of the AB GALLERY as well as the friends of the gallery goes beyond contemporary art. ACROSS BORDERS does more than just spread art works from Europe and the Islamic World. It is the ideas which transcend frontiers without documents and denomination. People`s desires, their uprising and their ideas find their way around frontier posts and other guardians to places where they are met by openness and curiosity. Alone the respect for others and the ostracism of prejudices are sacred.

The diverse activities of the AB GALLERY are shaped by this understanding and are made possible by a foundation – the ORYX FOUNDATION. On a regular basis artists in residence are invited to stay for a couple of weeks or months in Lucerne-Emmenbrücke. The Meeting Point Orient is an event series with well-known journalist and other with the region acquainted experts.

Through this background the AB GALLERY cultivates numerous contacts and alliances with museums and institutions in the Islamic World, in Germany and in Switzerland. The AB GALLERY also publishes catalogues and other publications.
